Paintings in bright colours in stylized flat forms, semi-figurative, with a cartoonish as well as surrealist touch. Often there is a central focus, from where (nearly) every part of the painting is connected. The paintings show a mixture of botanical, human and symbolic elements, they all behave the same way. All paintings are delivered in a wooden frame.

Picturesque nocturnes. These paintings tell about nocturnal wanderings, dreamy old towns, cities where you can get lost, where you can celebrate and love, there is a lot to do, memorable. At times a bit obscure, fairytale-like too. Possibly a tribute to Patti's "Because the night".

Until 2021, I first put paper maché on the canvas, to add some structure. Once the paper maché has dried, which takes a few days, I paint on it with acryl, in an abstract expressionist style. Most of these paintings feature 'stones', rocky formations. The herringbone motif often returns.

These seven drawings illustrate the picture book Porka. Each day of the week has a colour: Monday is white, Tuesday blue, Wednesday brown, Thursday green, Friday red, Saturday orange, Sunday yellow. Porka dresses to the color of the day.

A digital made (Adobe Illustrator) picture book that tells the story about nine little spines who live in a big Poster. Each spine has a very specific character and a name based on their character. Each spine is accompanied by a text in rhyme (so a sort of poem). Ideal to read aloud to kids at bed time. Children at the age of 8 to 10 can read this on their own. Since it's not evident to translate poetry, until now the text is only available in Dutch. Hope you enjoy.
